Where to Start

A Covington County release question depends on which agency had custody. A local jail release starts with the Covington County Jail or Sheriff's Office. A court order, sentence, bond, dismissal, or probation order routes through the Circuit Clerk. Records and Courts

Include the person's full name, date of birth if known, booking date if known, case number if known, and the specific fields requested, such as release date, release type, charges, booking number, and transfer destination. State Custody Contacts

ADOC handles Alabama state-prison custody. ABPP handles parole, probation, mandatory-release supervision, and local field-office supervision for Covington County. A person transferred from the county jail to ADOC is not the same as a person released to the community.
